Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series - Zisl Slepovitch Plays Klezmer
 
Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series - Zisl Slepovitch Plays KlezmerThe Ocean Drive Association invites you to gather oceanside for an open-air concert featuring composer, ethnomusicologist, educator, and multi-instrumentalist Zisl Slepovitch. In honor of Jewish Heritage Month, Zisl will be performing a program of traditional Klezmer music. This concert will take place on May 21 in Lummus Park. Sounds of Little Haiti
 
Join us on May 19 for one of the biggest Haitian Heritage Celebrations with live performances by the legendary konpa band Tabou Combo and T-Vice! They will be rockin' the stage at the Little Haiti Cultural Center with their hit songs that you know and love. The dance floor will be open for all to show off their konpa moves. Sounds of Little Haiti is a  wonderful family-friendly outdoor event that gives all communities an opportunity to experience live konpa music at its best.

25th Anniversary Haitian Compas Festival
 
The 25th edition of the Haitian Compas Festival is moving back to Bayfront Park.  Don’t miss this festival, where Haitian music, dance, food and art meld together for an immersive cultural experience.  Enjoy performances by popular Haitian and Haitian-American musicians and artists, including KAÏ, Nu Look, T-Vice, Kodak Black and more. Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Kick-Off Celebration
 
The Asian American Advisory Board will host their annual Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Kick-Off Celebration on May 5 at the Stephen P. Clark Government Center Lobby starting at noon. Come celebrate the significant contributions made by Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders to the development of the arts, sciences, government, military, commerce, and education in the United States. On this day, there will be cultural performances and performers representing many parts of the beautiful Asian countries.

Haitian Heritage Cultural Month: Wonders of Haiti
 
Miami-Dade County Commissioner Marleine Bastien is inviting the community to experience the magic of Haitian culture, art, music and food by participating in the annual celebration of Haitian Heritage Cultural Month during the month of May. Highlights of this year’s celebrations include Commissioner Bastiein's Haitian Heritage Cultural Month opening reception, Little Haiti Book Festival, Sounds of Little Haiti and much more. Miami-Dade County's Small Business Development (SBD) Division will join many national and local organizations to celebrate the critical contributions of entrepreneurs and small business owners. SBD will celebrate Small Business Week by holding five days of events May 1-5. Meet with representatives from several county departments and partnering agencies. The events are focused on celebrating the county’s small businesses and provide important information on business development opportunities through certification, contracts, capital and partnerships. In celebration of Haitian Heritage Month, the Hilton Miami Airport Blue Lagoon invites you to an artist meet and greet on May 4.  Meet Haitian-Born, Miami-based visual artist Annick Duvivier. Her art exhibition Closer to Nature is on display in the lobby of the hotel. Annick is known for her mixed media collage painting.  She is currently creating artwork in her studio for her upcoming shows at the end of the year. Follow her journey on Instagram. HOT CHALLENGE 2023 MIAMI BEACH GOLF
 
30th Annual H.O.T. Challenge Golf Tournament

The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau's Hospitality Open Tournament, better known as the H.O.T. Challenge, to benefit the Black Hospitality Initiative (BHI) took place on April 28 at the Miami Beach Golf Club.  With your help, we have raised more than $3.5 million to fund scholarships for African American students studying hospitality at local universities.  This has allowed us to support more than 450 students, many of whom have gone on to become the tourism professionals of today.

Pérez CreARTE Grants offer $3.5M for the Arts
 
The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation aims to develop South Florida as a world-class urban center. In 2023 – 2025, the Foundation’s CreARTE Program will invest over $3.5 million in Miami-Dade organizations working to cultivate this ecosystem by expanding residents’ access to the arts and making our city a global hub for artistic excellence.  The Foundation believes that effective arts education can inspire creative development in local youth, drive a lifelong interest in and appreciation for the arts, and build audiences for the future. The Foundation seeks to support top artistic talent and attract artists to Miami by creating local fellowship and residency programs.  Applications close May 26. Click here for more information.

2nd Annual Minority Business Economic Forum

The National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) is coming to the W South Beach and bringing together 500 of the nation’s most influential policymakers, academics, and business and community leaders, forming the new vanguard in the next wave of the economic equity movement.The NMSDC has advocated for, certified, and facilitated the inclusion and development of thousands of minority business enterprises.
