President's Message

Hello everyone:

As we turn the calendar and enter one of our busiest months of the year, we also celebrate Black History Month nationally and locally throughout February.

Each year, our community hosts a wide range of activations, events and celebrations and in that spirit, we once again welcome everyone to our February Partnership Networker in recognition of the month. Please join us Wednesday, Feb. 11, beginning at 10 a.m., as we gather at a unique event space in Miami Gardens – Oasis, located at 640 N.W. 183rd Street. Staying true to the theme, partners can expect a special musical experience and, more importantly, a Southern-style breakfast catered by fellow GMCVB member The Rum Cake Factory. See the following page for more details on our Partnership Networker and Oasis – and come hungry. I see chicken and waffles in your future.

We also dedicate a special section on our website where you can explore a lineup of Black History Month events that spotlight music, food, dance, history and art. Check it out at ...

Find Mia

Mia is exploring – showcasing what makes Miami-Dade one of the world’s top destinations to live, work, play and stay!

This week she's kayaking near a landmark estate. Spread across 444 acres of coastline in Palmetto Bay, it’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places and one of seven Miami-Dade County Heritage Parks.

The first three readers to correctly guess where Mia is win a Miami-themed prize – and all correct responses are entered into our grand prize drawing in December.

Congrats to last issue’s winners – Willie Garcia, Inna Malostovker and Barbara Van Hussen – first to spot Mia at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
