Join Us for the 2nd Hispanic Heritage Film Festival!
The inaugural Hispanic Heritage Film Festival (HHFF) showed the power of community and storytelling. Now, they are building on that success with a second edition filled with more films, more events, and more opportunities to connect. From October 3–5, Miami hosts the HHFF, a global gathering of filmmakers, film lovers, and Hispanic communities. More than a festival, HHFF celebrates our stories and identity through cinema. Freedom Tower Preview Tours
Be among the first to experience the newly reopened Freedom Tower with Museum of Art and Design (MOAD) at Miami Dade College. This guided tour, Thursday–Sunday through October 10, offers insider stories of Miami’s National Historic Landmark—its role as home to the city’s oldest newspaper, the Cuban Refugee Center, and a symbol of hope since 1925—while showcasing the architecture that has shaped Downtown’s skyline. Carnival Vibes Take Over Miami!
Welcome to the 41st Miami Carnival—North America’s premier Caribbean cultural celebration! Presented by the Miami-Broward One Carnival Host Committee, the festivities kick off October 4 with a week of exciting events leading to the Parade of Bands & Concert on October 12 at the Miami-Dade County Fairgrounds. Drawing over 100,000 attendees from around the world, Miami Carnival immerses audiences in the sights and sounds of the Caribbean, from steelpan and soca to the dazzling artistry of masquerade bands and family-friendly celebrations. Mark Your Calendars! iGen Film Festival
The iGen Film Festival returns to Historic Overtown from November 6–9, celebrating the work of young filmmakers aged 13–25 from around the world. The festival showcases a diverse lineup of short films, documentaries, and narratives, culminating in the Blue Carpet Awards Show where winners are announced. Beyond screenings, attendees can take part in panel discussions, masterclasses, and workshops led by industry professionals—offering valuable insights and networking opportunities for emerging filmmakers. iGen is committed to educating youth in the art of filmmaking while creating equitable platforms for growth, creativity, and connection.

French Weeks Miami
French Weeks Miami 2025 returns October 16–31, celebrating 18 years of French economic, cultural, and entrepreneurial contributions to Florida. Organized by the French-American Chamber of Commerce of Florida (FACC), this signature two-week festival unites the French-American community through 15 dynamic events, from business summits and expert panels to cultural experiences like Musiwine, pétanque, and film screenings. Featured Event: Diwali Miami
|
Celebrate the 5th anniversary of Diwali Miami on October 26 with a vibrant showcase of music, dance, and cultural traditions. Enjoy an Indian food court with regional specialties, a sweets market, and a fashion and jewelry bazaar. The festivities feature live Bollywood and bhangra performances, drummers, a fashion show, and special guest appearances. The event welcomes all ages, with free admission for children 12 and under.

The City of Hialeah proudly celebrates its 100th Anniversary with a vibrant tribute to the community’s past, present, and future. In partnership with Mayor Jacqueline Garcia-Roves and the Hialeah City Council, presents Hialeah History - a collective art exhibition that captures the city’s centennial through creativity and culture. Showcasing its milestones, achievements, and the stories that have shaped its identity, the exhibit reflects the richness of Hispanic traditions, history, and contemporary life. Join us for this unforgettable celebration on display until October 10 at the Milander Center for Arts & Entertainment.

Latina Expo 2025 – Miami comes to Miami Dade College’s West Campus on October 10–11 for a two-day celebration of Latina power, creativity, and influence. Part of a multi-city tour, the expo features inspiring panels on entrepreneurship and leadership, resources for small business owners, Latina-owned brand showcases, health and wellness experiences, beauty and style inspiration, and vibrant networking spaces. Heritage, storytelling, and community come alive at the Family Roots Festival, a signature event celebrating National Family History Month. Held on October 25 at the Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater, the festival blends education, culture, and entertainment for all ages. Highlights include genealogy workshops with local experts, storytelling and oral history sessions presented by HistoryMiami and the Black Broward Film Project, and opportunities for attendees to record their own family stories for the Black Archives’ digital collection. A dedicated Children’s Activity Zone features youth activities from the FIU Bob Moses Research Center and Little Lovett Petite Party Experience, while live music, cultural performances, and DJ H2 set the festive tone throughout the day.

Hospitality & Tourism Career Expo in Historic Overtown

On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the Overtown Youth Center Miami, the Visitor Industry Council supported the Hospitality & Tourism Career Expo. We connected with students, community members, and industry leaders to share who we are and the opportunities we provide. Our team — VIC Alumni Shekinah Rogers, Board Member Ed Ponder, Executive Director Dr. Graylyn Swilley-Woods, and Program Manager Vernon Chipman engaged with attendees and fellow businesses to build awareness, spark ideas, and lay the foundation for future collaborations across the hospitality industry.
