Breaking Ground for Concourse K: A New Era for Miami International Airport
|
The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, alongside Miami-Dade's elected leaders and aviation officials, celebrated a pivotal moment with the groundbreaking of Concourse K. This marks a significant step in Miami International Airport’s ambitious $9 billion Future-Ready Modernization in Action plan. By 2029, this $600 million expansion will introduce six cutting-edge gates, a state-of-the-art ground support equipment maintenance facility, upgraded baggage handling systems, and crucial enhancements to the airfield infrastructure. Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator Presents Across Ebb and Flow
|
Presented by Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator (DVCAI) as part of their Summer Exhibition, Across ebb and flow is a two-person show featuring installations by artists L.A. Samuelson, an interdisciplinary choreographer working in performance, sculpture, and new media, and Amanda Bradley, a Belizean American artist, photographer, and curator. Both artists present works that are adaptive to site and transform with each iteration of presentation. Within each body of work, the artists deconstruct notions of ownership, division, and permanence, seeking a more expansive relationship to change, connection, and loss. This exhibition is on display now through September 30 at the DVCAI Space at Barry University, Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library. For more information click here.

Alem K. Richardson (BS, Restaurant Management – FIU) is cooking up big dreams of owning her own restaurant and bakery and will continue her studies at FIU to obtain a master's degree.
Shania Forbes (BS, Hospitality Leadership – FIU) is passionate about creating unforgettable guest experiences and is ready to make her mark in the hospitality industry.
Christian Barruos-Brens (BS, Hospitality Supervision Management – MDC) is working to expand his catering business and will continue his studies at FIU to earn his bachelor’s degree.
Kiara Fernandez (AS, Culinary Arts Management – MDC) is focused on plans to open her own restaurant and collaborate with local farmers. She’s headed to FIU next to pursue her bachelor’s degree.
Shekinah Rogers (AS, Culinary Arts Management – MDC) dreams of owning a farm-to-table restaurant and inn. Her next chapter at FIU is to work towards a master’s degree.
