Hello everyone:
Around the nation and globally, most major destinations celebrate LGBTQ Pride Month in June with parades, special events and other celebrations.
Many, many years ago, local leaders and organizers wisely considered the heat impact for outdoor events was much better in April than June. Back then, we also didn't enjoy the more balanced 12-month nature of our tourism season today (August and September not withstanding) and organizers also considered the appeal of revelers traveling to the destination in April so they could also celebrate in their local communities in June.
The tradition continues today, and this weekend is Miami Beach Pride Weekend. This includes this year’s themed Mad Hatter’s Party tonight (Friday) in Lummus Park adjacent to Ocean Drive starting at 7 p.m.
