Women of the Caribbean Concert
 
Koubek Center presents Women of the Caribbean concert with singer, songwriter, producer, and instrumentalist Kaylan Arnold, performer Bri La Pelúa who stands out with her voice, energy, and peculiar way of playing the Cajón and Leau, a young and versatile singer who delves in a broad range of styles, including R&B, soul, Haitian Konpa, and jazz.  These female artists will bring their diverse music, roots, and personal stories to the stage for the Women of the Caribbean concert at the Koubek Center on Saturday September 17 at 8 p.m.  Learn more here.
 
 
 
Brazilian Film Festival of Miami
 
View the best Brazilian films in independent cinema at Inffinito's 26th annual Brazilian Film Festival of Miami (BRAFF). Running through September 25, the festival returns in hybrid format with a week (September 10 - 16) of in-person screenings and two weeks (September 10 - 25) of virtual festival events.  Learn more here.
 
 
 
Vivid Viola Concerts
 
FIU Miami Beach Urban Studios presents “Bach’s Goldberg Variations", Bach’s monumental work performed in a string trio arrangement performed in a glorious acoustical space by FIU Artists-in-Residence on September 14.  Followed by “Vivid Viola Solo”, solo viola recital performed by Michael Klotz, Vivid Viola Concerts Director and FIU Teaching Professor of Viola and Chamber Music on September 22.
 
 
 
Hispanic Heritage Doral Art Exhibit
 
This indoor exhibit will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month as local artists showcase what their heritage means to them. This exhibit will be open to the public at the Doral Government Center from September 16 to October 14, 2022.  The exhibit's opening reception takes place on Friday, September 16 at 6:30 p.m.
 
 
 
Orchestra Miami Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month
 
On September 17, join Orchestra Miami as we Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at Westland Mall with a FREE concert! To celebrate the start of Hispanic Heritage month, Orchestra Miami will present a FREE performance of music from around the Spanish-speaking world! Enjoy popular favorites from Cuba, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Puerto Rico and Spain, mixed in with some of Pop Music's greatest hits, including Despacito, Havana by Camilla Cabella, and "We Don't Talk about Bruno" from Encanto. Feel Good Music Fest
 
Feel Good Music Fest is an event that combines Live Music by reggae legends, Latin funk artists and beyond, Gastronomy and Nature hosted at the Miami Beach Bandshell.  A sunset concert loaded with good music from local, national and internationally acclaimed music artists. Con Acento - Art Exhibiton in Celebration of Hispanic Heritage
 
The North Miami Beach Discovery Library is proud to present: Con Acento, a National Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration! Join the fun on September 23, for an eventful evening filled with live music, food, and entertainment. There will also be an art exhibition featuring works by Hispanic artists. Miamibloco Mondays Afrobrazilian Percussion 
 
Miamibloco is proud to welcome Mestres Guilherme and Gustavo Oliveira of G.R.E.S. Acadêmicos do Salgueiro, 9x champion of Rio de Janeiro’s carnaval parade competition.  Every other Monday from September 19 to December 12 Miamibloco opens its doors to share an experiential taste of Afrobrazilian percussion with our community. Miami Beach Hispanic Heritage Celebration Featuring Melina Almodòvar
 
The City Of Miami Beach invites you September 24, to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Melina Almodóvar "La Muñeca de la Salsa" and her Salsa Orchestra.  Free salsa lessons for all by Ricky Torres from Salsa Central Dance Studios of Miami Beach. Celebrating Hispanic Heritage and Latin Culture in all its forms. Come enjoy Melina, Mofongo de Plena, Puerta de Oro de Colombia, all types of Latin food and much more. Miami Web Fest
 
Miami Web Fest is the film festival for web series that started in 2014.  The 2022 edition will take place Sep 29 – Oct 2 offering both in-person local events and online experiences for worldwide audiences.  The event is designed to create a work-play environment, attracting Miami’s vast and multicultural community of arts enthusiasts. For attendees, Miami Web Fest is a “window into the future” of new media, allowing the general public to see independently produced shows before they are discovered by big television networks and media entities.  Click here for more information.
 
 
 
La Mano Hispana:  Opening Night Reception
 
The City of Hialeah presents La Mano Hispana, a collective art exhibit celebrating the heritage and accomplishments of Hispanic culture.  An opening night reception will be held on September 30 at the Milander Center for Arts and Entertainment. Enjoy live entertainment, light bites and refreshments, along with an artisan market comprised of local small businesses. This vibrant gallery brings in hundreds of people every year who come to enjoy the rich cultural expressions of Hispanic traditions, history, and contemporary life. With multiple Hispanic countries represented in some way, there is something for everyone to take pride in!  Parking and entrance are free, the exhibit will run through November 4. Jazz at MOCA Featuring Dante Vargas
 
For the September installment of MOCA's free jazz series, music producer, arranger and jazz musician Dante Vargas will be performing on September 30. Born in Trujillo, Peru, Dante Vargas started his musical career as a trumpet player.  His professional career started from a very early age in Colombia, where he got the chance to work with world-renowned artists such as Fruko y sus Tesos, La Sonora Dinamita, El Grupo Gale, Los Titanes, Grupo Niche, El Combo De Las Estrellas, El Tropicombo and many more. Celebrate Orgullo!
 
Celebrate Orgullo, the first Hispanic and Indigenous LGBTQ+ festival in Greater Miami & Miami Beach, is back for its 12th edition on October 1-8. There’s no better way to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month and the destination’s diversity and history as an LGBTQ+ paradise. In 2021, Celebrate Orgullo (Spanish for “pride”) was named #4 among the top 14 most unique LGBTQ+ events around the world by TripSavvy.
 
 
 
Art on the Plaza: “Clint and April"
 
On view through Oct. 7 as part of MOCA’s Art on the Plaza series, Autumn Casey’s “Clint and April” is a sculptural installation featuring two swans, each secured on their respective plinths. The sculptures are illuminated from within via solar-powered lights. Existing as a pair to echo the natural practice of swans who mate for life, “Clint and April” creates a tender space for the contemplation of beauty, love, ideas of worship and familial bonds. Included with the installation is a performance with a written prompt of questions to inspire conversation between the artist and the audience. Cost: Free and open to the public, located outside on the MOCA Plaza.
 
 
 
The 38th Annual Miami Carnival on Columbus Day Weekend
 
The Miami Broward One Carnival Host Committee (MBOCHC) and the South Florida Carnival Bandleaders Association have announced that they will host the 38th annual Miami Carnival cultural festival on Columbus Day weekend, Sunday, October 9.
