Miami Bayside Foundation Small Business Training Graduation
 
Congratulations to the spring Cohort of Small Businesses who are on target to graduate  on April 4. These businesses participated in a 16 session online workshop facilitated by industry professionals geared towards helping them sharpen their entrepreneurial skills while learning how to prepare to access capital. The program is supported by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau's Tourism Business Enhancement Initiative with the mission to advocate, support, and strengthen the economic sustainability and access of multicultural communities and heritage-related businesses within the Greater Miami & Miami Beach as part of the efforts of the Multicultural Tourism & Development Department. The Miami Bayside Foundation's Small Business Training, in Spanish, is a 15-session online workshop geared towards helping business owners sharpen their entrepreneurial skills while learning how to prepare to access capital. Scheduled to begin on May 21, participating small businesses will complete workshop training led by industry professionals.  The program is supported by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau's Tourism Business Enhancement Initiative with the mission to advocate, support, and strengthen the economic sustainability and access of multicultural communities and heritage-related businesses within the Greater Miami & Miami Beach as part of the efforts of the Multicultural Tourism & Development Department. Mom & Pop Business Grants for District 5 are Officially Open!

$1,000 Grant for Small Businesses
 
The Awesome Foundation is an international network dedicated to promoting excellence throughout the world, one $1000 grant at a time. Every independent branch champions outstanding initiatives by providing micro-grants, typically awarded on a monthly basis. These grants, equivalent to $1000 or the currency in the respective locality, are generously funded by the chapter's trustees and bestowed upon individuals and organizations pursuing remarkable endeavors, free from any stipulations or obligations. WE ARE MIAMI 2024
 
Miami Bayside Foundation (MBF) will host their annual event WE ARE MIAMI on April 23, at The Historic Alfred I. duPont Building in Downtown Miami. The networking reception brings together small businesses and community partners, clients, and supporters whose work has impacted the mission of Miami Bayside Foundation. MBF is a nonprofit organization designed to advance economic development in South Florida through the support of minority businesses and education. Registration is required for this event. $500 Grant and Mentorship for Entrepreneurs
 
Freed Fellowship Grant offers a monthly $500 prize, business feedback, and a two-month free membership in the Freed Studio – a community of ambitious business owners – to qualifying business owners. Applicants are also eligible for an end-of-year grant of $2,500. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Click here to read more and apply.
Wish Local Empowerment Program
 
As a prominent e-commerce enterprise, we acknowledge our duty to support others in need. Black-owned small businesses have historically encountered adversity stemming from systemic injustices. However, businesses like yours play a crucial role in shaping the fabric of America. Hence, we're committing a $2 million fund to provide financial assistance to approximately 4,000 Wish Local small business partners. Recipients selected will receive grants ranging from $500 to $2000. This initiative is exclusively available to Black-owned establishments, aimed at fostering equity and inclusivity within the American business landscape. Click here for all of the details.
West Dixie Small Business Tech Grant Program
 
North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency (NMCRA) Vice Chair Mary Estimé-Irvin is pleased to announce the launch of the West Dixie Small Business Tech Grant Program. It is designed to empower local businesses by providing funding for various technology-related equipment and services to small businesses located on West Dixie Highway. This initiative offers financial assistance of up to $7,500 to eligible businesses for technology upgrades aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and capacity. Applications are now open. Prospera Small-Business Grants
 
Prospera, a nonprofit economic development organization, works with new and existing Hispanic business owners to help ensure they have the tools and resources needed to succeed. Prospera grants are awarded on an individual basis and provide for professional services related to legal and accounting assessments, business plans, QuickBooks consulting, marketing plans and brand kits at no cost to the business owner.  Their business advancement services allow start-ups and existing businesses to receive professional business development services at no cost to them. These low or no-cost local workshops are presented on relevant small business topics by small business experts, online and in-person. You may also benefit by getting free business advice from experienced mentors – partnerships focused on making you more successful in starting and/or growing your small business.
GMCVB Partners with Miami-Dade County Strive305 Program 
 
Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) has partnered with Miami-Dade County Strive305 Virtual Incubator Program to engage and promote opportunities and resources for small businesses in Tourism. Available on the platform, businesses will learn more about the GMCVB, Capacity-Building Resources through the Tourism Business Enhancement Program led by the Multicultural Tourism & Development Department, and GMCVB Partnership opportunities. The session is titled How to Connect and Grow Your Business with Tourism. The mission of the Tourism Business Enhancement Program is to advocate, support, and strengthen the economic sustainability and access of multicultural communities and heritage-related businesses within Greater Miami & Miami Beach. The Strive305 program is designed to accelerate the growth of small businesses countywide and support budding entrepreneurs as they launch and grow new businesses. Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses provides business education, support services and pathways to capital for growth-oriented entrepreneurs. Participants gain practical skill to take their business to the next level, with topics like financial statements, negotiations, and marketing. Participants develop an actionable growth plan for their business with the help of advisors and a network of like-minded entrepreneurs. The program is free for participants and delivered in partnership with academic institutions across the country.
