Black Hospitality Initiative Scholarship Program Accepting Applications 
 
The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau's Black Hospitality Initiative (BHI) Scholarship Program is accepting applications NOW.  To be eligible you must be African American or Black of African descent who possesses a strong work ethic and desire to build a career in the Hospitality/Visitor Industry. Applicant must be a resident and committed to work in the Greater Miami-Dade Visitor Industry for at least two years following graduation. The deadline to apply is June 9. Black Affairs Advisory Board: Annual Community Pillars & Young Pillars Scholarship Awards
 
The Black Affairs Advisory Board’s Heritage Planning Committee invites you to its annual Community Pillar awards and Young Pillar scholarship presentation on June 3 at the Miami Biscayne Bay Marriott. The ceremony will honor Black business leaders for their contribution to Miami’s economy and for paving the way for a younger generation of leaders.  In alignment with the mission of the Pillar Awards, some of the current Black Hospitality Initiative students will be recognized during the program..  Learn more here.
 
          
 
Black Hospitality Initiative Welcomes a New Academic Partner
 
Black Hospitality Initiative (BHI) Board of Directors welcomes St. Thomas University to our list of university partners offering programs to students in Hospitality and Tourism. St. Thomas University will offer Sports Administration courses in a curriculum designed to prepare students for management positions in the sports industry. BHI's existing partner, Miami Dade College, now has a BHI scholarship available to students in Aviation Administration (Airport and Airline Management). BHI's current programs and academic partners are Miami Dade College, Florida Memorial University, and Florida International University, with degrees and concentrations in Hotel Management, Restaurant/Food Service Management, Travel & Tourism Management, Culinary, Aviation Management, and related disciplines.
