Museum Of Graffiti Launches All Black Everything Exhibition
 
Museum of Graffiti, the world’s first Museum dedicated to the preservation and exhibition of graffiti art, is hosting the opening of the first exclusively African American graffiti exhibition. Opening on June 2, the exhibition entitled All Black Everything, celebrates the contribution and art of multi-generational graffiti artists from the African diaspora. To celebrate the opening, the museum will host a panel discussion with artists featured in the exhibit including graffiti pioneer Richard “Bama” Admiral. The discussion will be the first of many “Fighting Spirit Stories” told throughout the summer.

Join the Miami Arts Marketing Project for this intensive workshop for curious and innovative arts leaders eager to explore the relevancy of their brand related to mission, goals, and fundraising. Explore your organizational identity and its ability to harness community and donor support. It draws the direct connection of a bold brand to your values, encourages reflection of those values through a lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and teaches you how to position your voice with the stakeholders crucial to your success. This online session on June 6 will be lead by Dale Edwards, Vice President of Marketing at the Adrienne Arsht Center.

2024 - 2025 Arts and Culture Grants Applications
 
Applications for the fiscal year 2024-2025 for General Program Support, Specific Cultural Projects, Cultural Facilities, and Cultural Endowment State Matching Share grant programs are now open! They must be submitted online using the Department of State (DOS) Grants System. The deadline for application submission is June 21. DOS Grants allow Floridians to apply for and manage grants offered by the DOS through the Divisions of Arts and Culture, Elections, Historical Resources and Library, and Information Services. These grants support Florida's position as the recognized national leader in these areas.
 
 
 
Kimpton EPIC Hotel Celebrates Artist Joanne Hampstead for EPIC Art Exhibition
 
For the months of July and August, the Kimpton EPIC Hotel’s 16th floor corridor will transform into an exhibition space featuring the original works of Joanne Hampstead, Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) Art of Black Miami 2022 Cover Competition Winner. Joanne was born in England but moved back to her homeland of Guyana at the age of two. Ms. Hampstead’s pieces are usually based on women of color. The subject’s powerful emotions, warmth and vibrancy of their skin is usually Joanne’s signature. The artist’s aim is to give the audience a visceral experience of power and beauty. Here & Now: 2023 Commissioned Artists
 
Miami Light Project launched Here & Now in 1999, as the first program of its kind in South Florida dedicated to commissioning and presenting Miami-based performance and multi-media artists.  Here & Now commissioned artists are identified through an open request for proposals and selected through an adjudication process completed by a panel consisting of MLP programming team members, working artists, colleagues, and Here & Now Alumni.  Meet the 2023 commissioned artists here.
 
                      
 
Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs Grant Guidelines
 
The Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs has released guidelines and deadline schedules for the fiscal year 2022-2023 fall cycle of arts and cultural grants programs available to Miami-Dade County based non-profit cultural groups. Guidelines containing information regarding eligibility requirements, funding requests and program criteria can be downloaded here. Grant guidelines can also be requested by calling the Department of Cultural Affairs at (305) 375-4634 or via email at culture@miamidade.gov.
