GMCVB Partners with Miami-Dade County Strive305 Program 
 
Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) has partnered with Miami-Dade County Strive305 Virtual Incubator Program to engage and promote opportunities and resources for small businesses in Tourism. Available on the platform, businesses will learn more about the GMCVB, Capacity-Building Resources through the Tourism Business Enhancement Program led by the Multicultural Tourism & Development Department, and GMCVB Partnership opportunities. The session is titled How to Connect and Grow Your Business with Tourism. The mission of the Tourism Business Enhancement Program is to advocate, support, and strengthen the economic sustainability and access of multicultural communities and heritage-related businesses within Greater Miami & Miami Beach. The Strive305 program is designed to accelerate the growth of small businesses countywide and support budding entrepreneurs as they launch and grow new businesses. Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau Hosted Professional Business Workshop Series To Support Small Business
 
The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau's (GMCVB) Multicultural Tourism & Development Department, through its Tourism Business Enhancement (TBE) program, hosted a small business finance workshop last May 31 at the Overtown Performing Arts Center. Titled Financial Fitness: Strengthening Your Small Business Bottom Line it aimed to empower the attendees with the skills and confidence to build a strong financial foundation for their business and achieve long-term success. The seminar was open for small business owners at all levels of financial knowledge, from those just starting out to those looking to refine their financial management skills.  The workshop was facilitated by Yasnay Montalvo, Founder of Micro-Business Catalyst. Miami Bayside Foundation Small Business Training
 
Enrollment for the Miami Bayside Foundation's Small Business Workshop opens June 21. The program runs from July 18 through August 17.  The 15-session online workshop is geared towards helping business owners sharpen their entrepreneurial skills while learning how to prepare to access capital. Participating small businesses will complete workshop training led by industry professionals. The program is supported by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau's Tourism Business Enhancement Initiative with the mission to advocate, support, and strengthen the economic sustainability and access of multicultural communities and heritage-related businesses within the Greater Miami & Miami Beach as part of the efforts of the Multicultural Tourism & Development Department. They will offer seminars from highly trained business experts. During these workshops, companies will learn steps to successfully start and grow a business, review key financial concepts for small businesses, and how to start doing business with the government. Learn successful marketing strategies to grow your business. Gain insights from the lender’s perspective and steps you can take today to make your business more bankable. Participants who attend and complete the five (5) workshops will receive a certificate of completion from Florida SBDC at FIU. This workshop takes place on June 7 at the Marjorie and William McDonald Center in North Miami Beach.

Miami Dade College’s (MDC) Business Innovation & Technology (BIT) Center will launch the College’s first Student Operated Digital Agency (SODA) in the heart of downtown Miami. Through SODA, students interested in careers in marketing can obtain industry-recognized certifications, such as Google and Hootsuite free of charge, and will have the opportunity to work with local businesses and organizations to help them overcome marketing and business growth challenges.
