Miami and Miami Beach to host Florida Huddle & Encounter 

This week, Visit Florida announced that Florida Huddle and Encounter 2024 will take place July 29-31, 2024 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, hosted in partnership with the GMCVB. Florida Huddle is the sunshine state’s official travel trade show, showcasing the best of Florida to international and domestic tour operators, wholesalers and media. Florida Encounter, one of the longest running appointment trade shows in the MICE industry, takes place in conjunction with Florida Huddle 2024; Encounter features appointments between fully hosted, qualified planners with proven business for Florida and Florida suppliers.

Spring in Miami

Last week, the GMCVB unveiled its new “Spring in Miami” programming, welcoming visitors from all backgrounds and lifestyles to experience a diverse calendar of cultural events and happenings taking place across the destination. The program's website SpringInMiami.com will be the portal to all events and happenings throughout the season.

This week, our communications team hosts travel storyteller Oneika Raymond, who produces digital content to share on Instagram (222K) and TikTok (16.7K) showcasing the destination’s art and culture, luxury, and culinary scene in anticipation of the GMCVB’s ‘Spring in Miami’ programming.

Digital influencer Nicole Sunderland 

The communications team hosts influencer Nicole Sunderland in Miami and Miami Beach Feb. 1-4 to produce digital content showcasing the destination’s art and culture, luxury and culinary scene to share on Instagram (390K), TikTok (1M) and Blog (15.5K).

Luxury travel pubs from Belgium and Netherlands

The publisher/editor and social media manager of two glossy travel publications – Lux & Travel (300k readers) and Cruise & Style (50,000) – work with the communications team on destination reports Feb. 18-21. In addition to print coverage in the publications’ December 2023 issues, content will also be shared via the outlets’ social media platforms.

Travel industry sales to LA

The travel industry sales team showcases Greater Miami & Miami Beach at the Los Angeles Travel & Adventure Show Feb. 18-19. The show, expected to attract more than 15,000 attendees, is a one-stop shop for consumers to get great travel ideas and speak with travel experts from top destinations, major cruise lines, railways, tour companies, theme parks, attractions and more.   

Destination showcase at Mann Travels event

Port Miami, Greater Miami and Miami Beach are featured during the 40th Annual Mann Travels Cruise & Travel Show Feb. 18 at the Charlotte Convention Center. North Carolina-based Mann Travels is affiliated with FROSCH, a travel management company co-headquartered in New York City and Houston, with offices in more than 40 locations worldwide.
Vitrina Turística Anato 2023

The GMCVB team heads to Bogota, Colombia Feb. 22-24 for Vitrina Turística Anato with partners American Airlines and the Marco Polo Beach Resort. Colombia is one of Greater Miami and Miami Beach’s top five international markets and Anato offers the best opportunity to showcase the destination and its many product offerings to Colombian travel agencies, media and the general consumer, eager to discover new destinations, attractions, cultural and culinary experiences. 

Media brunch at Anato

Communications hosts a press brunch for top media and content creators/influencers in Bogota, Colombia pre-Anato Feb. 21. Staff will showcase the destination’s pillars (wellness, neighborhoods, art, culinary arts, sustainability) by having an experiential event with a live graffiti artist creating a ‘Spring in Miami’ inspired art piece, wellness station, Miami inspired food and live DJ.  

Popular German travel guide series

The communications team hosts two journalists through Feb. 15, working on coverage for German daily Rheinische Post and popular travel guide Glücksorte in Miami (Happy Places in Miami), scheduled for release in 2024.

Travel industry sales heads southwest

The GMCVB heads to ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents) trade events in Houston and Dallas Feb. 21-22, then onto Las Vegas for the Cruise Planners Boot Camp Feb. 24-25, providing in-person training and destination updates for this key market segment.

GMCVB welcomes AMWC  

The GMCVB welcomes AMWC North America 2023 to the Miami Beach Convention Center Feb. 23-25, with the convention services team leading efforts to meet all their destination needs. With a scientific program guided by the Aesthetic Multispecialty Society (AMS), AMWC features a multidisciplinary aesthetic and anti-aging medicine program designed for high-level continuing education, new ideas, and the sharing of expertise. 

Acqualina tops in the country

 Acqualina Resort in Sunny Isles Beach  has been ranked first in the country by U.S. News & World Report in not just one but two categories – best hotel and best resort.
