Council of Urban Boards of Education Annual Conference

The Council of Urban Boards of Education (CUBE) will host its premier annual conference on December 8-10 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Downtown Miami. This year's keynote speaker is Reverend Nontombi Naomi Tutu, Race & Gender Justice Activist and daughter of Archbishop Desmond Tutu. CUBE creates educational opportunities for urban school board leaders to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to serve as effective local education policymakers and as advocates for equity in public education. The Miami Beach Convention Center Joins Oak View Group's Supplier Diversity Program

The Miami Beach Convention Center, an OVG360 managed venue, announced it has teamed with Oak View Group (OVG) for participation in the launch of its company-wide supplier diversity program. Deepening its commitment to economic inclusivity, the initiative is a part of OVG’s continued pledge to be a catalyst for lasting change and inclusion throughout its organization, partners, and the communities it serves while encouraging the growth of minority-owned businesses and women-owned businesses.

National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals Annual Convention

Connie Kinnard, Senior Vice President of Multicultural Tourism & Development and Joe McCray, GMCVB Convention Sales Manager attended the 39th Annual Convention of National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals November 16-19 in Jacksonville, FL. The NCBMP is a non-profit organization dedicated primarily to the training needs of African American Meeting Planners.
