Entrepreneurs Access Network | Applications are Open

The EY Entrepreneurs Access Network (EAN) is now accepting applications for the 2023 cohort - a 12-month business accelerator program and evergreen community to help Black and Latino owned companies bridge the disparity gap and grow their businesses. Tremendous impacts were made with the 2021 cohort and the momentum is continuing with the 2022 class. Applications are open through September 16, 2022.

 
 
 
Hacker Nation at StartUP FIU

Hacker Nation at StartUP FIU is a group dedicated to creating an open learning environment where people can share new topics, ideas, and knowledge, or ask for certain areas of expertise that are not yet available in schools/universities/online. Any student, researcher, or explorer, who wants to challenge their thinking is welcome, regardless of the major or previous level of expertise.  Held every Wednesday at 11:30 am at StartUP FIU or via Zoom.

Formula 1® Commits $500,000 and Partners with the Community Fund of North Miami Dade to Support Small Business Owners in Miami Gardens

The Community Fund of North Miami Dade (“CFNMD”), a subsidiary of the Opa-locka Community Development Corporation (OLCDC), announced on July 14, that Formula 1 has committed to provide a grant of up to $500,000 to support entrepreneurs who own small businesses in Miami Gardens. With this grant, CFNMD will be able to make more loans to the small business owners who need them most.   The grant is specifically reserved for residents and businesses in Miami Gardens and is in recognition of the 10-year relationship between the City of Miami Gardens and Formula 1. The Formula 1 Miami Gardens Small Business Loan Program also received $100,000 in additional support from Truist Foundation.  Learn more here.

$20 Million Granted to The Miami Foundation to Strengthen Small Businesses in Miami

The Miami Foundation has launched the Miami Open for Business initiative to support small, historically disadvantaged, minority business owners to own more of their businesses’ assets, such as property, equipment, and technology. With support from Wells Fargo, funding will help build generational wealth and resilience for small, minority-led nonprofits and businesses located in Miami-Dade County. This work builds upon the Foundation’s commitment to racial equity and leverages their deep relationships with community stakeholders focused on a more equitable, more resilient Greater Miami. Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs Grant Guidelines
 

The Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs has released guidelines and deadline schedules for the fiscal year 2021-2022 for general, project based and youth grants in the cultural arts and tourist development areas available to Miami-Dade County based non-profit cultural organizations. Guidelines containing information regarding eligibility requirements, funding requests and program criteria can be downloaded here.  Grant guidelines can also be requested by calling the Department of Cultural Affairs at (305) 375-4634, or via email at culture@miamidade.gov.
