Miami-Dade County to launch ‘Support BOB 305’ campaign in August to promote Black Business Month 
 
In August, Miami-Dade County will launch the Support BOB 305 campaign to promote Black Business Month.  The month-long initiative led by the Miami-Dade Economic Advocacy Trust in collaboration with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and other organizations will feature a series of events aimed to promote the value and viability of Miami’s multi-billion dollar Black-owned business and community. A launch event to commemorate the campaign will be held on Thursday, August 4, at 6:00 p.m. at The Urban, located at 1000 N.W. 2nd Avenue in Miami’s Historic Overtown community.

Spanish Small Business Training Workshop

On August 23, the Miami Bayside Foundation in partnership with the GMCVB’s Tourism Business Enhancement program is launching another, fully Spanish Small Business Training. The 14-session virtual training is geared to small and mom & pop businesses interested in growing their business venture and learning sustainable practices around entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs Access Network | Applications are Open

The EY Entrepreneurs Access Network (EAN) is now accepting applications for the 2023 cohort - a 12-month business accelerator program and evergreen community to help Black and Latino owned companies bridge the disparity gap and grow their businesses. Tremendous impacts were made with the 2021 cohort and the momentum is continuing with the 2022 class. Applications are open through September 16, 2022.

US Small Business Administration Announces Landmark Collaboration with Historically Black Fraternities and Sororities to Address Wealth Gap Through Black Entrepreneurship
 
First of its Kind Agreement That Will Focus on Improving Financial Literacy, Outreach and Capital Access Opportunities Across Communities. Recently, Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman , head of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the voice for America's 32.5 million small businesses in President Biden's Cabinet, signed a Strategic Alliance Memorandum (SAM)--an authority unique to the SBA among federal agencies--with President Reuben A. Shelton III, Esq., on behalf of the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)'s Council of Presidents, comprised of nine historically Black fraternities and sororities, sometimes referred to as the "Divine Nine." The Comcast RISE Investment Fund Will Award $1 Million in $10,000 Cash Grants to 100 Minority-Owned Small Businesses
 
The Comcast RISE Investment Fund provides monetary grants to help small, minority-owned businesses grow as thy navigate the challenges of the pandemic.  The investment Fund is the latest extension of Comcast RISE (Representation, Investment, Strength, Empowerment), the multi-year, multi-faceted initiative launched in 2020 to provide small businesses owned by entrepreneurs of diverse backgrounds the opportunity to apply for marketing, technology and capital resources. Comcast RISE is part of a larger $100 million Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiative launched by Comcast to fight injustice and inequality against any race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation or ability.
