Construction of Grand Hyatt Miami Beach Convention Center Hotel Set to Begin This Summer
 
With construction set to begin this summer on the Grand Hyatt Miami Beach Convention Center Hotel, the city’s convention center campus will continue to evolve into one of the most sought-after meeting and convention destinations in the world. Designed by Arquitectonica, the 800-room hotel will enhance Miami Beach’s Convention Center District with new public spaces, improved connectivity, and privately-funded infrastructure and resiliency upgrades. The project will create an estimated 1,909 on-site construction jobs, 724 full-time jobs and 225 indirect jobs.

This session's topic will focus on driving a thriving service culture where the leaders will create an environment of trust, respect, honesty, and commitment to excellence with their employees and the guest. Forbes Travel Guide Hospitality Training - Frontline Level 
 
This free virtual hospitality training session reviews foundational standards of exceptional service, to establish trust and put guests at ease, and is designed for all venues and areas, including front-line staff and managers.  This session's topic will focus on driving a thriving service culture where the employees will create an environment of trust, respect, honesty, and commitment to excellence with their supervisors and the guest. Discussions will include how leaders and employees will engage with each other and work as a team to accomplish excellent service levels. GMCVB to Participate in Business Tourism Mission Trip to Africa
 
Under the leadership of Commissioner Jean Monestime, Connie Kinnard, VP of Multicultural Tourism & Development and Jose Sotolongo, Director of Sports & Entertainment will join the Miami-Dade County Mission to Africa June 10-24.  The trip focuses on trade, tourism and other partnerships.  Over 40 attendees will visit Morocco, Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya.  The GMCVB will participate in two legs of the trip, Morocco and Kenya.
 
 
 
American Airlines Continues Caribbean Expansion with Service to Ocho Rios, Jamaica

As American celebrates its 45th anniversary in Jamaica, they announced the launch their third destination in the island, Ocho Rios, becoming the first U.S. airline that offers access to this Caribbean paradise. Flight 4007 will connect customers with Ian Fleming International Airport, just minutes away from some of Jamaica’s most beautiful natural treasures, like James Bond Beach and Dunn's River Falls. Service between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Ian Fleming International Airport (OCJ) launches on Nov. 5 and will be operated by Envoy on Wednesdays and Saturdays with Embraer E175 aircraft.  American Airlines® - Search flights to Jamaica (aa.com).

The 2022 Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards have been announced and once again, Greater Miami and Miami Beach score big.
