Miami Bayside Foundation will host the WE ARE MIAMI 2022 event on May 26 from 6-8pm. The networking reception will take place at The Historic Alfred I. duPont Building at 169 East Flagler Street, 2nd Floor in Downtown Miami. The annual event brings together community partners, small businesses, and supporters as they celebrate shared successes. U.S. Small Business Administration Offers Two Free Training Courses to Help Navigate Government Contracts

Each year, the United States government awards billions of dollars in federal contracts to businesses in order to meet the needs of government agencies. There are also state and local government contracts available for businesses looking to get started in contracting. If you are considering joining the world of government contracting, there’s a lot of information to know. Sometimes it can be overwhelming, but the goal of these online seminars is to simplify the government contracting process. On May 26, learn from government contracting expert Felicia Streeter about how she won her first $7 million contract during this lunch and learn Do’s and Don’ts of  Government Contracting:  How I Won My First $7 Million Contract. Does your small business need access to more capital? If so, on May 27 join What is SSBCI? Learn About the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) Program to learn about the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 from government contracting expert Tommy Marks. This act reauthorized and expanded the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) program, which was originally established in 2010. 

 
 
 
Spanish Small Business Training Workshop

The Miami Bayside Foundation in partnership with the GMCVB’s Tourism Business Enhancement program is graduating another class, fully in Spanish on May 12, as part of the Small Business Training.  The 14-session training is geared to small and mom & pop businesses interested in growing their business venture and learning sustainable practices around entrepreneurship. The Comcast RISE Investment Fund Will Award $1 Million in $10,000 Cash Grants to 100 Minority-Owned Small Businesses
 
The Comcast RISE Investment Fund provides monetary grants to help small, minority-owned businesses grow as thy navigate the challenges of the pandemic.  The investment Fund is the latest extension of Comcast RISE (Representation, Investment, Strength, Empowerment), the multi-year, multi-faceted initiative launched in 2020 to provide small businesses owned by entrepreneurs of diverse backgrounds the opportunity to apply for marketing, technology and capital resources. Comcast RISE is part of a larger $100 million Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiative launched by Comcast to fight injustice and inequality against any race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation or ability.
