NABHOOD Summits & Trade Shows
 
The National Association of Black Hotel Owners, Operators and Developers (NABHOOD) will host is 25th Annual International African American Hotel Ownership & Investment Summit & Trade Show this year from October 6-8.  Followed by the 8th Annual International Multicultural and Heritage Tourism Summit and Trade Show on October 8-10 at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay Hotel. 22nd Annual US-Africa Trade & Investment Conference - AfrICANDO 2021
 
The 22nd annual US- Africa Trade and Investment Conference will be hosted October 7-8 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Miami Airport & Convention Center (MACC). This year’s theme is the impact of COVID -19 on US-Africa Trade and Economic Cooperation: The Way Forward and is designed to assist civil society organizations (CSOs), micro, small, and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs), and the African Diaspora in creating linkages with US businesses and other stakeholders. 2nd Annual Minority Baseball Prospect All-American Game Meets in Miami
 

The purpose of the 2nd annual Minority Baseball Prospect All-American Game is to highlight and promote the best minority baseball prospects in the country to major league scouts and college coaches. The goal of the All-American Games is to inspire the next generation of diverse players throughout the country to continue to play the game of baseball and use the game of baseball to produce productive citizens in our community. For the players, the game will consist of unique and once-in-a-lifetime experiences such as the first-ever live ALL-STAR draft and other programming that will educate and prepare these players for college and professional baseball in the future. 

Events: Tuesday, Oct 5 - Barry University - 5:00-6:30 Free Instructional Clinic Wednesday, Oct 6 - Florida International University - 11:30 MBP Futures All-American Game (Top Junior/Sophomores in-country) - 6:00 pm MBP All-American Game (Top Seniors In Country).

Hispanicize #UnidosTogether Virtual Summit
 
Join us on Friday, October 15 for the Hispanicize #UnidosTogether Virtual Summit the largest virtual gathering of Latinx influencers, content creators, entrepreneurs and media and entertainment innovators. Hosted both virtually and live in-person from Los Angeles and Miami, Hispanicize will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month bigger than ever before!
 
 
 
Latinx Inaugural Travel Summit
 
Held on October  15-17, the Latinx Travel Summit provides a platform to connect with entrepreneurs, organiza­tions and thought-leaders that focus on Millennial and Generation Z audiences. We are building community by facilitating business collaborations, exploring diversity, enhancing connections, celebrating our culture through the arts and supporting Latinx youth by providing scholarships. ‍The Summit is an in person event presented by the Latinx Travel Club. Formula 1 Signs 10-Year Deal to Host Miami Grand Prix at Hard Rock Stadium
 
Formula 1 and Hard Rock Stadium signed a 10-year deal to host the Miami Grand Prix starting in 2022. The 3.4-mile track will be built on and near Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. The deal includes a $5 million commitment to create community programs within the city of Miami Gardens. Click here to learn more.
 
 
 
Association of Black Travel Professionals FAM Group
 
The GMCVB Travel Industry Sales team hosted a group of ten Association of Black Travel Professionals (ABTP) travel advisors for Greater Miami hotel site tours and experiences on September 14-16.  All participating travel advisors were graduates of the Greater Miami & Miami Beach Travel Specialist Program.  The ABTP was created in 2020 to enhance the Business Development of travel professionals of color and to be the premiere organization providing industry certification, education, advocacy and networking opportunities to the Black travel professional community
 
 
 
GMCVB and IPW 2021 in Las Vegas
 
The GMCVB participated in the U.S. Travel Association’s IPW which reunited the world in 2021, providing an in-person platform for the global travel industry to rebuild and renew relationships around the world. As the leading international inbound travel trade show, IPW was a model for restarting international travel and trade shows safely. IPW was held in Las Vegas, NV on September 20 – 22, 2021. Several GMCVB partners also attended IPW to reconnect and continue strengthening longstanding relationships as well as creating new ones.
 
 
 
Miami Beach Budget Includes Funding to Support American Black Film Festival
 
Miami Beach has been the host city for the American Black Film Festival (ABFF) for 17 of its 25 years. Seeking to keep the festival here for at least the next couple of years, City Commissioners gave preliminary approval to $200,000 in sponsorship money for events in 2021 and 2022 The funding still needs final approval when Commissioners vote on the FY 2021-22 budget in September, but support for the festival was clear at a recent budget briefing.
