New ‘Freedom Week’ Tax Holiday Program

Floridians will soon be able to enjoy a new tax holiday program running July 1-7 which for the first time will cover sporting and live music events, state park admission, gym dues and movie theater tickets. This program would also waive taxes on outdoor products and items such as tents and sleeping bags. This measure should encourage people to go outdoors as the state emerges from the pandemic. Silver Knight Award Winners

The 2021 Silver Knight Awards recently honored the most outstanding and accomplished high school seniors from our Community for their achievements in academics and significant service to their schools and communities. Winners included: Leandra Hall of Mast Academy for Vocational Technical, Nicholas Quintana of Miami Arts Studio for Drama and Tali Finger of Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High for Mathematics.
