GMCVB Launches Miami Hotel Months
 

The GMCVB announces the return of the lauded Miami Hotel Months. From June 1 to September 30, locals and visitors can enjoy luxe packages, complimentary add-ons, BOGO hotel stays and more. The four-month-long program calls on those looking to book a vacation or staycation without breaking the bank and enjoy top hotels across Greater Miami.  

The program is an invitation to families, friends, couples, and solo relaxers to bask in the sun and vibrancy of Greater Miami. The destination’s premier hotels and resorts are offering a bevy of specials including offers on rooms, added amenities and services including complimentary meals and parking, special events and even extra nights for those who wish to stay a bit longer.

MIA Welcomes Montego Bay Service by Frontier Airlines 
 
Miami International Airport (MIA) will be welcoming Frontier Airlines as they launch flights to MIA from Montego Bay, Jamaica (3x per week). The launch of this service on May 28, and four more routes by Frontier this summer, will bring its network to a total of 34 destinations – its highest number ever at the airport. Mobile Vaccine Units on Miami Beach
 
The Greater Miami & The Beaches Hotel Association and the GMCVB have partnered with Miami-Dade County’s Office of Emergency Management’s Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to provide mobile vaccine units at local Miami Beach hotels  and restaurants for their employees. Homestead-Miami Speedway to Host ‘Give Back at the Track’
 
‘Give Back at the Track’ returns to Homestead-Miami Speedway on June 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This philanthropic event gives guests the rare opportunity to drive around the 1.5-mile oval in their own, personal vehicle – and all for a good cause. Click here for more information.
 
 
 
 
Ultra Music Festival Returns March 2022
 
Ultra Music Festival and the Downtown Neighbors Alliance have reached a historic agreement to see the return of Ultra Music Festival to Bayfront Park on March 25 - 27, 2022. The agreement ensures that the event will continue to deliver state-of-the-art production, consistent with Ultra’s high production standards, while also implementing a community standards program addressing issues such as construction schedules, park closures, noise monitoring and traffic management. Miami Beach Race to Trace Program Expanded to Include COVID-19 Vaccinations
 
The City of Miami Beach has expanded their Race to Trace program to include free, on-site, COVID-19 vaccinations for participating Miami Beach hotels, restaurants and other businesses wanting to make this available to employees and their families. Participating businesses select dates based on employee schedules and the level of interest. The COVID-19 vaccines will be administered by registered nurses or physicians. Black Travel Mini Summit
 
The Black Travel Summit hosts their first mini summit of 2021 on June 5 as a hybrid event in the Miami Design District. The event celebrates the Black travel industry professionals and travelers, with an emphasis on the Millennial and Gen Z audience and includes speaker segments, vendor viewing, and networking opportunities. Tap Tap Tours Presents: Tropical Art Fair at Naomi’s Garden
 
Join Tap Tap Tours in exploring Greater Miami’s local arts and crafts scene at Naomi’s Garden in Liberty City on June 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Attendees can check out a vast collection of art, textile, Cuban cigars, quilts, and jewelry. EMIRATES Commences Service to MIA this Summer
 
EMIRATES Airline will begin passenger service at Miami International Airport (MIA) starting July 21. EMIRATES will operate four weekly flights between MIA and Dubai (UAE). The Skytrax 4-Star rated carrier will operate flights with Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft. Dubai, along with route from Doha by Qatar, will be the two-longest air routes to MIA. GMCVB President & CEO to Present State of the Travel & Tourism Industry at Miami-Dade County Commission Meeting
 
GMCVB President & CEO William D. Talbert III, CDME will provide a State of the Travel & Tourism Industry address at the Miami-Dade County Commission Meeting on June 2.  The address will include new developments in Greater Miami’s tourism, travel, and hospitality industries.
 
 
 
 
GMCVB President & CEO to Join American Airlines Special Inaugural Flight Celebration
 
GMCVB President & CEO William D. Talbert, III, CDME will be joining the American Airlines team, Carlos Liscano, Vice President of Miami Operations, and Christine Valls, Managing Director of Sales for Florida, Latin America and the Caribbean to celebrate becoming the first U.S. carrier to launch direct service to Miami from Tel Aviv, Israel on June 4.  American Airlines, Miami’s Hometown Airline, serves more than 100 destinations to MIA and this summer will continue to expand its footprint with new service from domestic and international destinations.
 
 
 
 
Communications Team Partners with Hilton Aventura Miami to Host Press Tour
 
The Communications Team is currently partnering with the new Hilton Aventura Miami, bringing in select domestic media June 4-7, to experience the property.  The GMCVB will be enhancing their stay by offering destination experiences to promote surrounding areas. Journalists participating in the tour include Millennium Magazine (Circulation:15,000), InLove Magazine, Southern Bride Magazine (Circulation: 30,000) and Houston Citybook (Circulation: 40,000/Readership: 120,000).

GMCVB President & CEO to Attend the 2021 Florida TaxWatch Spring Meeting
 
GMCVB President & CEO William D. Talbert III, CDME will be attending the 2021 Florida TaxWatch Spring Meeting in Orlando from June 2-3.  Florida TaxWatch is Florida’s premier government watchdog organization entrusted to ensure money sent to Tallahassee is being used responsibly.  Mr. Talbert was selected to serve on the Board of Trustees of Florida TaxWatch for a three-year term on January 1, 2020. 
 
 
 
 
Communications Team Participating in Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC) Annual Convention
 
The Communications Team will participate in the Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC) Annual Convention held virtually June 1-3. TMAC brings together Canada’s foremost travel journalists and social media influencers with DMO’s and PR firms in the travel industry. Sr. Director of Communications Suzie Sponder will be a featured panelist at a Professional Development session and conduct numerous media interviews as part of the media marketplace.
 
 
 
 
Communications Team Hosting Freelancer for AAA and Atlanta Journal-Constitution
 
The Communications Team is currently hosting Tracey Teo, June 1-5 on assignment for articles focusing on what’s new in the destination, luxury experiences and Greater Miami’s Latin-centric entertainment options, for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (5,797,078 UVPM) and AAA Magazine (7,945,747 UVPM).
 
 
 
 
GMCVB Supports 'Love is Love' Exhibit at HistoryMiami
 
The Cultural Tourism and LGBTQ Marketing Team are happy to support the ‘Love is Love’ exhibit kick-off. A vision of Miami-Dade County LGBTQ Advisory Board and the Office of Advocacy, the exhibit will open on June 4 at noon at HistoryMiami Museum.
