Small Business Training Available This Spring

The Miami Bayside Foundation’s Small Business Training Program is accepting applications for its Spring semester now through February 5, 2021. The program is supported by the GMCVB’s Tourism Business Enhancement Initiative with the mission to advocate, support the economic sustainability and access of multicultural communities and heritage related businesses within the Greater Miami & Beaches as part of the Multicultural Tourism & Development Department. At the end of the training, businesses can participate in a business pitch presentation to lenders for funding opportunities. Created as a key pillar of KKR's COVID-19 Relief Effort, KKR Small Business Builders (SBB) aims to support entrepreneurs and their small businesses around the world. The grants are designed to help business owners sustain their enterprises, maintain or create jobs, and spur economic opportunity as they respond to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis and recover from its resultant economic dislocation. Rise to the Challenge: Job Interviews in the “New Normal”

It is more important than ever to adapt and refresh your skills in the new job market. Join Suited for Success/Dress for Success Miami and the Overtown Children & Youth Coalition for this free virtual workshop and learn the basics of going on a job interview (including virtual interviews), answering difficult interview questions and navigating the interview process. There will be two workshops available on Thursday, February 25th, morning workshop from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. or an afternoon workshop from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Miami Beach Launches Race to Trace

The City of Miami Beach announced the launch of Race to Trace, a new program intended to provide focused COVID-19 contact tracing and other health resources to Miami Beach hotels, restaurants as well as cultural venues. Funded under a grant from The Rockefeller Foundation, the program will provide businesses with a dedicated strike team of seasoned contact tracers from the Florida Department of Health (DOH) in Miami-Dade County to keep employees and patrons safe. The Rockefeller Foundation awarded grants to the City of Miami Beach and Florida Department of Health (FDOH) to further the goals of its National COVID-19 Testing & Tracing Action Plan. The Plan supports reopening the economy through a combination of effective testing, contact tracing and strengthening of data platforms and public education campaigns to better track and monitor the spread of the disease.
