Art of Black Miami Cover Competition
 
Congratulations to the 2020 Art of Black Miami Cover Competition Winner, photography artist Dennis Manuel with piece titled ‘Grace Jones In London.’  Each year MIA Magazine and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau host an Art of Black Miami Cover Competition edition open to all visual artists working and living in Greater Miami. 2nd place was awarded to  multidisciplinary artist, Alfrena Moosa. 7th Annual Art of Black Miami Kick-Off Virtual Experience - Program Replay Available
 
On Monday, November 30th, the GMCVB hosted a Virtual Kick-Off showcasing the Art of Black Miami art season.  The evening event featured a conversation with nationally known award winning poet, activist and educator Nikki Giovanni moderated by Vice President of Multicultural & Tourism & Development, Connie Kinnard. The  Art of Black Miami Kick-Off highlighted  the artistic diversity of exhibitions, events and activations (virtual and in-person) happening in Miami’s heritage neighborhoods and communities throughout Miami’s Art Season and Art, Culture & Heritage Months. Art of Black Miami Events & Listing Joins Miami Art Circuits New Digital Viewing Platform
 
This year, Miami Art Circuits will offer patrons a digital experience  for the Miami Season through its new digital guide. From the click of the mouse, watch videos, know about  Miami Art Week, this year online viewing room art fairs, cool art treks as well as Art of Black Miami events and listing.  On the digital platform explore the hybrid as well as the in person events to plan your art season.  The interactive Miami Art Circuits Guide brings all art places in one place. DVCAI Showcases the Work of Miami and National Artists in Charlotte, NC
 

The diversity of Miami artists and their works will be represented at the Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator’s exhibition at the National Historic Museum Harvey B. Gantt Center for African American Arts + Culture. The exhibition, Inter|Sectionality: Diaspora Art From The Creole City is curated by DVCAI’s founder Rosie Gordon-Wallace and features the work of twenty-five artists including local and national representation. GMCVB through its Art of Black Miami platform is a contributing sponsor of this exhibition. The exhibition is slated to open September 2020, exact date to be determined.
