Packed with educational fun and creative activities, Family Day on Aragon is the perfect outing for children and adults alike. From 11-6 PM, relish in free admission, interactive exhibitions, engaging workshops, and a whole lot more. Bond with your loved ones as you uncover the wonders of history and culture at the Coral Gables Museum.

11 am: Inclusive Theatre Project Performance

Area Stage’s Inclusion Theatre Project (ITP) is proud to present the first Inclusive Ballet Class performed by their company of neurodivergent dancers. Following the Royal Academy of Dance curriculum, ITP dancers will perform a selection of classical ballet pieces and a Hungarian character dance selection. Join us Saturday, May 11th at 11am in celebration of Mother’s Day at the Coral Gables Museum!

11:30 am: IMAGO Mommy & Me Sing A-long 

This is an activity where children and their moms can sing Mother’s Day songs alongside the Imago children’s choir directed by the singer and musician Nayruska Monsalve. It will be a repertoire of 5 songs in Spanish that will be printed so that all attendees can sing together. The presentation will then conclude with some additional pieces sung by the children’s choir.

12:00 m: Moving Music Museum  

Come to experience teamwork, social interaction and connection through music. Let’s create a family percussion ensemble to play several musical instruments and to have fun.

1-3 pm: Artmaking

  • Pastels and Transfers inspired by Jorge Tacla:

Jorge Tacla is a Chile-born, New York-based artist. His early paintings from the 1980s focus on the environment, especially the architecture around him. His paintings appear both ghostly and vibrant, it’s this feeling that we are trying to capture when we are creating our own artworks. Using white transfer paper, selected photographs of buildings, and oil pastels, we can create our Tacla-inspired masterpiece!

3:00pm: Imago performance (Gallery)

Play Together is Imago x las artes’ music program for adults, where a group of passionate non-professionals come together to ensemble their talents and prepare repertoires. In this case, they will be presenting a repertoire of 7 pieces, all in Spanish, dedicated to mothers. This wonderful program is directed by the renowned Venezuelan cuatro player, Héctor Molina. It will be a very special experience where everyone can enjoy specially selected songs to honor mothers on their day.

4:00 pm: Miami Symphony Orchestra Ensemble performance
