A Reflection Of Me
Reinforcing the importance of family lineage, self-identity and helping preserve cultural heritage!

“The joy I would feel if I could just have an image of my father.”

“I’m so happy to have these pictures of my family.
We take pictures with our phones all the time and
lose those pictures when the phone is destroyed.
This project and the reason behind it is so personal
for me. My father died when I was quite young.
Growing up, I heard many stories about him, but I
couldn’t remember how he looked.”

Images have the power to share the stories which binds us

Join us in our quest to explore and reveal these stories!

One of the most powerful types of images are those of family photos.  Do you recall when you were young flipping through your family albums?  Do you remember sitting with your children showing them images portraying the transitions of  your family's lives and of those who came before?  It derives a nostalgic feeling.  There are those who can go as far back as the 15th century and there are some of us who don't have images of our own parents.  These lack of photos and knowledge of previous generations deprive us of our history.  But we have an opportunity to change this.  We are capable of starting now, today.  Dust off the family albums and begin adding new pictures.  If you don't have one start one.  Plan a family reunion.  Start with a branch and expand as you become a pro.  Design family trees, physical or electronic.  Create a community group focusing on building family and community legacies.  Images are truly powerful, but they have to be developed by us!
